Bring on the milk


As a new mom, being told that my milk production was great and that I should not have anything to worry about I was pretty darn happy and ready to get nursing.
Fast forward 3 months and things had changed. I was now pumping and nursing but started to notice my supply was dwindling. I didn’t know what to do about this. I drank more water, took warm showers, had my babe nurse on both more often but nothing seemed to be working. That’s when I spoke to my naturopath at True Roots Healthcare and she suggested I try a nursing tea (there are many brands out there but the one I use is a blend made at the naturopathic clinic I go to and is a loose leaf blend).

I will say, I was a bit skeptical at first, I mean come on, a tea, really…this was her big suggestion to magically amp up my milk production again!!! I gave it a try anyway and , well, I can happily say that it began to work. Not only that, it tastes amazing and I look forward to my cups of daily goodness!!!

My suggestion to new moms who may be having the same issue with their milk supply…don’t downplay anything and try everything. If nothing seems to be working I’m also a firm believer in “do what works to feed your babe”…don’t fear alternatives to breastmilk yes ladies I mean try formula!!! Your baby needs to eat and you need to remain happy and sane. Love yourself and know that you will make the best decisions for both yourself and your little one.

Sanity saver, aka the belly belt! 

I have loved being able to remain active throughout my pregnancy so when I started getting pelvic floor pain after my runs I thought my jogging days were over…that was until my girlfriend loaned me this contraption. 


The belly belt saved my sanity quite literally…I can jog again! This makes for one happy Prego! 

I highly recommend this for any lady experiencing pelvic pain that may be caused by physical activity! 😄👶🏻🏃🏻‍♀️

Shake it up

Protein shakes are a delicious way to give your body the boost it needs and a great way to start your day off on the right foot.

Why not give it a try. Be sure to use protein powder that has ingredients that you can pronounce and that provides at least 20-25 grams of protein per scoop.

You can pretty much put anything you want in them, but, be sure to keep it healthy. Berries, kale, avacado, rolled oats, hemp hearts are just a few of my favourite ingredients to add, but feel free to “shake it up” and create something truly delicious and healthy.
